Project story

I designed and machined a four-wheel drive system for UBC AgroBot's autonomous weed-exterminating robot.

The work moved from idea generation into CAD of the complete assembly. I used Onshape to model each component, specified parts through McMaster-Carr, and designed a chain drive that delivered the necessary torque while keeping the system away from muddy ground debris.

After finalizing the design, I machined the system from scratch using a lathe, milling machine, and waterjet.
